We at Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show, invite you to submit an application to teach a 3-hour Hands-on Class or a 1-hour Demonstration. Our Show will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 9:00 am-Sunday October 19, 2025 5:00 pm.  Please review all of the information below carefully, and then complete and submit the application by February 26, 2025, for consideration. Late/Incomplete applications cannot be accepted as schedules need to be set.  We expect a large amount of applications.  This year, due to limited space, we have to be extremely selective. Instructors will be notified as to whether or not they’ve been selected by February 28, 2025.

The maximum 3-hour hands-on class fee that an instructor can charge is capped at $200.00 CAD, to which a $50.00 CBSS administration fee will be added. Students tend to prefer class projects with multiple techniques. The hands-on classroom can hold a maximum of 12 students.

Demonstration classes are demo only and not hands on. Selected instructors will be paid a fee of $7.50 CAD/per student with maximum of 100 students for their 1 hour demo.

Fondant and gum paste for classes and demos will be provided by Virgin Ice.  You will be asked for your requirements in the application. PLEASE do not ask for more than you need, Virgin Ice will have a booth at the show so, if you underestimated your quantities and need more product, it will be provided.  If you would like to use another brand other than Virgin Ice, you must supply it yourself.

Instructors must supply all tools and supplies for themselves and 12 students, with the exception of a microwave or Kitchen-Aid mixer.  Classes are sold up to one hour before class start times. This means, hands on instructors MUST come prepared for a class of 12, in case the class sells out during the show.  If an instructor forgets something and Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show attempts to provide tools and supplies, the cost of the tools will be deducted from their instructor fee.  Each student must have their own set of tools and not have to share. If a microwave or mixer is required, please ensure you make that selection in your application.

Each instructor will be provided with a volunteer to help ensure things run smoothly, help with set up, clean up, and monitor attendance. Instructors must sign off on class numbers before the end of class. Volunteers are not permitted to partake in classes, they are there to assist only.
