Home Baked Recipe Rules & Regulations

  1. ​The 2019 competition is open to any amateur home baker 18 years of age or older, who is a Canadian resident. Contestants may enter more than one category.
  2. Recipes to the Grand Finale at the 2019 show must be submitted no later than September 30, 2019 by email (info@canadasbakingandsweetsshow.com) or fax (905 850-9755) with full name, address and phone number. All recipes must be the original creation of the entrant and if it is a revision of a published recipe it must be referenced as such and must demonstrate where it was revised. It must list all ingredients and quantities plus the preparation instructions.
  3. Recipes will be prepared at Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show (CBSS) test kitchens in Ontario.
  4. Judges on behalf of Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show will select the top TWO recipe finalists, from each category (5 categories) for a total of 10 competitors. They will participate in the Grand Finale at CBSS, October 19, 2019 (time to be announced).
  5. Expert chefs for The Home-Baked Recipe Competition will prepare these top TWO (2) recipes for each category. Contestants cannot bake their own recipes for the competition. Each recipe should be consistent in quality regardless of the baker. Each category contestant will be provided with 2 complimentary passes to the show on the day of their competition regardless of how many categories they’ve entered.
  6. The top 2 recipes for each category will be judged on taste by a panel of three (3) judges at the show. One winner will be selected for each category. All judges’ decisions are final.
  7. Entrant unconditionally grants Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show all rights, title, interest, and claim to his/her recipe and grants those acting under their authority the right to use the recipe in whole or in part, for any advertising or promotional purposes whatsoever in any and all types of media. The entrant’s name will be included along with the recipe whenever it is used.
  8. Winners will receive $500 in prizing from Sara Dolce, a Prize Pack from Cookina.
